As you may have noticed, the Simcoe Curling Club has recently received a Team Canada Sarah Wilkes.

This has been signed by all 4 members of Team Homan.

One lucky curler will take this home at the end of the season.

Details to come.

Curling is a sport built on mutual respect for both opponents and teammates.

It is a game of etiquette, both on and off the ice, and requires us to uphold standards of conduct that contribute to a positive atmosphere for everyone involved.

We are all here to enjoy the game and have fun. Please support your fellow curlers with words of encouragement and positivity.

Remember, no one intentionally misses a shot, burns a rock, or attempts to hog a stone.

We come from various skill levels, abilities, and experiences, and it is important to approach the game with understanding and patience.

We ask that you refrain from actions such as slamming your broom on the ice, kicking rocks, or engaging in outbursts of frustration, including swearing.

These actions not only detract from the game but can also negatively impact the experience for others.

Even when experiencing frustration with your own performance, please keep in mind that negative behavior can be interpreted in ways that diminish the enjoyment of others.

Such outbursts can leave members with a sour impression of the game, potentially causing them to leave with a negative view of the club.

Curling is a sport for everyone, and we should strive to create an environment where all feel welcome and respected.

Let’s work together to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that defines our game.

DAY LADIES CURLING THURSDAY - January 2 through February 13, 2025 @ 10:30 am
For Draw 2 of the Day Ladies Curling on Thursdays, we will be trialing a new drop-in format for any ladies interested in participating.
We will be playing the Tumbleweed game and will be forming teams as ladies arrive. If anyone has any issues with sweeping, please let Adele (draw chair) know and we will accommodate you so that we can all enjoy the sport we love.  We welcome ALL women curlers to join us! This would be a great time especially for new curlers to come play a game or two before committing to a whole draw!

The Board and Fund Raising Committee are actively seeking out other revenue and granting streams with applications currently under review with various grant committees. With that we are reopening the National Sport Trust Fund-Ontario campaign to help fund this project. This will be similar to when we raised money for curling rock replacement.

Using the link below, people can donate money to the Simcoe Curling Club for this project. With this donation, the NSTF will issue you a tax receipt.
