Did you watch Mixed Doubles on Sunday nights last season and think, “Wow! That looks fun!” That’s because it is! FYI… You do NOT have to jump up and sweep your own thrown rock!
The 2023-24 Mixed Doubles League is looking for a few additional teams to round out our divisions. We will be hosting a “Try Mixed Doubles” night this Sunday on the ice at 6:45pm. There will be experienced Doubles curlers on the ice coaching you through the rules and game play. At the very least, you could get some practice in before some other league play starts!
This is the 4th season for the Mixed Doubles League at Simcoe Curling Club. Although it’s termed a Competitive League, all skill levels of curlers are already involved. Mixed Doubles teams are composed of one male and one female player. Games are 8 ends to be played on Sunday evenings.
If you are interested in our “Try Mixed Curling” night, or already know you’d like to join the league, please email league convenors Angie Lane and Andy Elkin at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We look forward to another great season! But don't just take our word for it. Here's what players from previous years had to say playing Mixed Doubles:
"Don't knock it until you rock it! Haha... The gameplay is little more structured but fast. The different ways to play make it a challenge but it seems very rewarding."
"This is the perfect opportunity to practice draws and to be able to learn to read the ice yourself. Communication is required so this can also improve your gameplay."
"It's a must try, people are afraid because they may not be seasoned in curling or know how to skip but it helps your curling skills improve so much and it's fun. Everyone is great sports and is friendly!"
"Fast and fun take on the original game. Great for couples, beginners, and those looking for a new challenge in the game of curling."
"Improves your game, builds confidence in your decision making and you learn what your strengths are and what skills you need to work on."
